My Quant Development Workflow at 18: Tools and Resources

A deep dive into the terminal, IDE, and mathematics resources I use to master quantitative finance and machine learning.

I have optimized my workflow for coding and learning as an 18-year-old focused on Quant Finance, ML, and Mathematics. Here is what works for me so far:

1. Terminal: Gnome Terminal + Starship with Gruvbox Rainbow makes coding fast and visually clean. 2. IDE: Neovim with NVChad (material-deep-ocean) is my go-to for coding, while VSCode handles ML projects. 3. Setup: Windows + Ubuntu WSL gives me the best of both worlds. 4. Mathematics: Overleaf + Beamer helps me create clean presentations. I am learning calculus (Paul’s Online Math Notes), linear algebra (Interactive Linear Algebra), and statistics (All of Statistics). Soon, I will dive into advanced set theory. 5. Programming: C++ is my main language for speed, Python handles ML experiments, and JavaScript for visualization.

I will share updates as I progress over the next two months. Feel free to comment any suggestions.
